The Tel-Tale is a GSM alarm system that can be used to remotely inform you of a system event via a mobile phone.
Tel-Tale is a universal system for remote monitoring. Using the SMS service of a GSM network, it allows information transmission of six logical inputs and one logical output.GSM SMS (Short Message Service) messages can be received by a mobile phone.
Upon detecting a logical input, the unit transmits directly to a GSM base station, which in turn communicates with up to 10 mobile phones and reports the event that has occurred. There's no need for a landline, and the system, although usually mains-powered, incorporates battery back-up to allow it to run for several hours in the event of a power failure.
The system is sufficiently versatile to enable it to be used in a variety of applications and is capable of being used with level switches, thermostats, proximity switches, light detection, humidity sensors - if fact any type of switch sensor can be used being either powered or volt-free. The text message relating to each fault can be easily adjusted using the windows based software thus allowing future modifications and additional equipment to be added. The system is tamper proof and economical to operate with text messages as low as 5p per transmission with no fixed line standing charge.
Installation is simple and requires programming and fitting of a SIM card (supplied loose) and connections to power supply, input and output screw terminals. Full instructions are supplied. Please see the products section for full details and specifications of the unit.
